About

Joshua

An Ensign in the Civil Engineer Corps of the US Navy, Josh currently lives in Yokosuka, Japan doing contract management for construction projects.  He graduated from Boise State University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He is also married with two children.  Due to the extremely un-technical nature of his day job, he likes to do small side projects to keep himself sane.  He tries to share the knowledge he gains with others but is limited by his terrible technical communication skills and inherent laziness.

Chris

An EMC engineer at Micron Technology in Boise, ID, Chris spends his time wondering if the people responsible for writing FCC regulations and EU directives intentionally wrote them to be coma-inducing documents.

Why was this site created?

This page was envisioned and created by two friends who, during their college career as engineering students, wished there were better resources for young engineers to get their foot in the door to do interesting projects. Or simple tutorials and explanations to reduce time spent poring over data sheets or struggling through trial and error due to lack of adequate documentation.

We realize that there are already web-sites out there that have similar intentions and we either want to complement those web-sites by providing more specific information or simply teach the same things but in a clearer, more understandable way. This means that you, the visitor, need to let us know if something is confusing or incomplete so we can better help you. If you have found the page to be useful, you can help us by spreading the word, either by telling friends and colleagues or by linking to us. While this site is still in its infancy, with time we will expand to cover many topics from the broad topic of circuits to the niche topics of the PIC microcontroller and Eagle Layout.

If there’s a particular topic you think would be especially beneficial, feel free to e-mail us. If there’s one of us in particular you’d like to communicate with, click on our specific e-mail addresses above. Otherwise, you can send an e-mail to admin@ece101.com.
